Back to School - A Mini Tour

After an active Summer of STEAM, we're thrilled to start the new school year!

Look around the school and find fresh classrooms and new enrichment spaces that we set up this summer. Here's a tour of a few of the learning spaces:

Mr. Troy's new Level 4 classroom

The Level 4 students are eager to contribute to Mr. Troy's collaborative discussion about class activities.

We are delighted to welcome Mr. Troy Raiburn back to the DaVinci Academy team. He is taking on the role of Level 4 Teacher, as well as Associate Head for expansion and development of the Upper Elementary and Middle Schools. An alumnus, parent (his two sons attend DaVinci) and teacher, education is his passion. One exciting event happening this month is a camping retreat for Levels 4-8, led by Mr. Troy, to build camaraderie and teamwork among the students as we start the year.

Ms. Stephanie's Art Studio

Ms. Stephanie with Level 3 artists in the Art Studio.

The Art Studio is a blank canvas, ready to be filled with new student artwork this year. Ms. Stephanie is now at the helm of the Visual Arts program. Passionate about art and art history, she brings weekly lessons to the children that incorporate a variety of media, techniques, famous artists and their stories. She is excited to bring out each child's creativity through regular practice in the studio. She'll teach After School Activities, too, for students who want even more art time.

Performing Arts Studio – Music & Theater

Ready for an audience!

In this new Performing Arts space, students can learn:
- choir with Ms. Amara,
- piano keyboard with Ms. Amara and Ms. Theresa,
- public speaking with their classroom teachers or as an After School Activity,
- theater with Ms. Thalia (After School Activity),
- violin with Ms. Crystal (After School Activity),
as well as other musical instruments, dance, debate and music appreciation.

A stage, lectern and many piano keyboards are found in the Performing Arts Studio.

Ms. Zoe's Cheerful Level 1 Classroom

A cheerful classroom makes learning fun in Level 1. Rainbow windows surprised and delighted the children.

Ms. Zoe loves to bring her own creativity to the classroom to create a vibrant learning environment for her Level 1 students. She strikes the perfect balance, setting high expectations while also providing plenty of hands-on learning, games and projects to develop a love of learning in every child.

Come take a look of the school and campus!
(New families can schedule a Personal Tour by filling out any form on our website, or visit us at Open House on October 19, 1:00 - 3:00 pm.)

There's plenty more to see, from the Science Labs to the Maker Room, the Lunch Room, Rec Room and each bright classroom. Outdoors, students enjoy the track, fields, gymnasiums, banquet hall, garden, greenhouse and more.

Kindergarten students take a walking tour, working together to follow their route on a map. They found the library, gymnasiums, pool, fields, playground, garden, greenhouse and track!
